Here’s an optimistic piece of local news -
Programming for peace / Israeli hi-tech companies outsource to West Bank
I think this is absolutely awesome. Finally, cooperation and in a field that does both sides good. I like the fact that there are educated people, engineers and programmers, and not what we call here “black labor”. I hope the Palestinian engineers don’t get threatened by their own, for cooperating with “the Zionists” – I can really see this developing into something worthwhile over time – for both sides.
The nice thing about computer work too, of course, is that nobody has to commute and security issues are thus pretty much non-issue. I imagine the Palestinian engineers won’t be assigned to any projects relating to the IDF or Defense Industries, but other than that – the sky is the limit.

I think the outsourcing is a great idea. Like you said there are next to no security threats.
