First of all: Ha! Told ya!
I said in my last post that Daleet Leumi won’t be staying for long and indeed she was the first participant to leave the house. With that out of the way, I can continue with part two of my Big Brother participants post and this time let’s address the men – fortunately all of them still in the house for at least one more week.
Sa’ar Sheinfin
The Alpha male of the Israeli society. 37 year old Sa’ar (the name means storm) is a successful Tel Aviv lawyer (owns his own firm) that is said to be one of the city’s most desired bachelors. Think big motorcycle, think big sunglasses, think tough muscles and a possible adrenalin addiction. He was born in Kfar Saba – typical Ashkenazi upper middle class town – and of course is an IDF officer taking active part in all of our glorious wars. He’s one of the good guys though – shoots and cries (according to his profile last time he cried was inside an armored vehicle while attacking Jenin).
Erez De Drezner
He’s here to prove that being deaf person is just great. This extremely handsome 31 years old model from Haifa is on a mission and so far doing a great job at it. He’s full of positive energies and with his lip reading skills, along with some technical help from Big Brother, he’s getting along just fine. He doesn’t see himself as less fortunate than others and true to his mission, he insisted on doing his military service – full three years in the medical corps.
Go’el Pinto
He’s the Tel Aviv gay journalist – if your’e looking for a label. But there’s a twist in the background here. Originally, he’s from a Charedi Jewish Orthodox Moroccan family from Bnei Brak (hardcore Charedi town). This guy came out of the closet and turned secular. He did his military service – three years in combat engineering and moved on into the Tel Aviv bubble of art and fashion.
Benzi Shani
He’s a jovial family man, a 45 year old plumber from Modi’in – a large suburban town right between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. There’s one thing about him that stands out right away – he’s got Tourette syndrome. He’s a practical joker by nature and laments that this “niche” was taken away from him by Aviv. Still, plenty of other labels left for Benzi – middle of the road all-Israeli friendly guy, Dad, family man, Benzi the plumber and the guy with the ticks.
Aviv Savyon
I honestly didn’t know we had such guys in Israel. This 26 year old small town kid, looks and behaves like he came out of some American college movie. That combination between a good kid, computers geek working in the hi-tech industry, and a total practical joker, always looking for funny stuff to do. I guess he’s… ummm, cute?
Yosef Natan Backhar
The biblically named Yosef (that’s the Hebrew version of Joseph – usually shortened into Yossi and rarely used in full among secular Israelis) is fairly easy to tag: he’s “the spiritual one”. Coming from Pardes Hana myself, I totally know the type: the yoga teacher, all into alternative medicine, meditation and positive thoughts; he wants to win the million shekels because it’s “an energetic asset”.
Eliraz Sadeh
No labels here – just your average Israeli young man. 27 years old from the coastal town of Hadera. Eliraz did his military service in the paratroopers – some commanding positions but not an officer. He’s got two years of academic studies but not a degree. He tried the business route – but lost all of his money in bad financial investments. A bit of everything – but nothing really memorable. He’s a nice guy – but not really interesting enough to gather a following, IMO.
Motti Hudedda
I started the previous post with Ma’ayan, and I’ll end the male version with her husband – Motti. Other than being Ma’ayan’s husband, there isn’t that much I can say about him. A good man, aged 32, about to be a father soon. Takes good care of his flamboyant wife and keeps a relatively low profile.
That’s it – you have it all now – the complete list of participants. Now you can join the country in keeping track of our new pets in their pretty cage. Come see them feeding, bathing, responding to stimuli, courting (mating?), and exhibiting the common behavioral patterns of Israelus Commonus.
You can watch the full edited episodes here – or keep constant watch over their cage 24/7 here.

Great job for Erez De Drezner being a deaf was never be a hindrance to a person like him which he’d like to pursue and fulfill his dreams.
