Caesarea, locally known as Keyssaria, is one of my favorite places in Israel. The historic Old Town has it all – an amazing beach with archeological remains that encompass a huge temple, a hypodrome, an amphitheatre, an ancient harbor and much more. You can spend a while just walking there, admiring the mosaics, the ruins, the landscaping and the sea. We go there quite often, just to enjoy the breeze on the promenade by the sea and the kids enjoy climbing on the Roman marble pillars and other old relics… In fact, we were just there yesterday – and had a great time, although it was too humid.
Anyways, I just found this new layer on Google Earth that lets you look at panoramic views of various places, Caesarea included. They also let you embed these panoramic views, so figured I’d share a few here:
