Summertime in Israel

We’re halfway through the two hottest months of the year here. If in doubt, one just sticks one’s nose outside the air-conditioned room into the boiling soup outside.

Where I live, along the coastal plain, we have the winning combo of humidity and heat. High temperatures here today are supposed to reach 31 Celsius (that’s 88 Fahrenheit). It may not seem that hot, but throw in high humidity levels and it’s no fun being outside. Temperatures are actually higher in the mountainous areas of Jerusalem, the Galilee and the Golan Heights, expected to reach 102-3 in some places. Then again, it’s drier up there, so more tolerable.

Not much else to say, other than to be grateful that these are just heat waves and that the weather is expected to cool down a little bit on Tuesday. Actually, compared to many places in the world, I think Israel has great weather. It’s never too cold in winter time and honestly, the heat is tolerable during summertime too, especially with air conditioning everywhere.

Hopefully, next July-August, we’ll be checking out glaciers in the northern Rocky mountain region ;)

You’re not alone.. Here in the Philippines we’re also experiencing super hot morning but its blistering cold in the night. This year we’ve reached the extremes. I don’t know what will happen next year.

    Hi Anne,
Well I finally made it over to what I guess is your home site. You always leave the B6S.net address whenever you comment on Blog. I guess I caught you in the middle of building that site. I was under the impression that B6S.net was your one and only site. I now understand that it is one of many. However before I realized this I decided to help out and I re-built B6S.net on my Server as the site looks pretty broken up on Firefox. I had this vision of your being an Israeli Mom stuck between the West Bank and The Gaza Strip trying to do the best you could with B6S.net.
If you will drop me an E-Mail at admin@bloggersmarket.com I’ll give you the address so you can see the new site. I decided to use the new WP 3.0.1 which was my first install with that version and actually learned a lot about Media Files from your posts. I always hard code mine.
If you like what I have done I can send the files and database over to you or I can just delete it if you prefer.
Oh well, I thought I was being helpful!!!

Thanks, that’s very kind of you! B6s.net is the site where I talk about web publishing stuff. IM here is for the more personal stuff, or anything related to Israel.

I’ll email you about the design. I’m using Thesis as the template there, so hard coding the page won’t help, I think. It needs to be edited in the template files. I know there’s a display issue in FF – if you have a quick CSS fix, that would be great.

Not only Israel or Philippines, India also facing great summertime. We could bear the hot climate traveling to India. Even though we are standing in the edge of the summer, its too hot here.

I think Israel has blessed with a moderate climate.

I think you’re right – we should be happy and we’ve been blessed. If you come back again to comment, please make sure you only use a name in the name field and no keywords – thank you.
