The San Francisco and Northern California Page
This page covers our stay in San Francisco and the region, anything from Monterey onwards on the north of California will be covered here -
Sightseeing:
Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 -
The Aquarium of the Bay - if we don’t get sick of Aquariums by then.
Chinatown - we need to check out Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Company where they show you how they make fortune cookies (Dan adores those).
Paramount Great America San Francisco
Lombard Street - the kids want to see that one.
Muir Woods San Francisco - a nice day out walking nature trails.
Japanese Tea Garden San Francisco
Accommodation:
Hopefully we’ll be staying with some nice people in Santa Cruz and in San Francisco.
Eating Out:
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop at Ghirardelli Square - shopping complex with an emphasis on chocolate.
Yosemite
From Tommy: Yosemite is a special place and worth the drive. You should allow four days to really enjoy it. One to drive over, one to explore Yosemite Valley, one to explore Tioga Pass and the high country, and one to drive back. On the way over or back, consider Columbia State Park so the kids can have the real panning for gold, frontier experience in a well kept real western town.
